A thin needle is inserted into the hip bone. The procedure is done under local anesthesia. The procedure takes 15 to 30 minutes depending on the condition of the patient. After this, the patient is sent to the rest room for a break of around 3 or more hours. In the lab, the stem cells procured from the patient are separated and purified. After this step, the patient is brought back to the operation theater, and stem cells are transplanted into the patient’s body fluid around the brain and spine.
